Adjective কী?
সহজ কথায়, যে শব্দগুলো আমাদের কোনো ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা প্রাণীর দোষ, গুণ, অবস্থা, সংখ্যা বা পরিমাপ বুঝিয়ে দেয়, তাদেরকেই Adjective বলে।
একে আমরা "Describing Word"
বা বর্ণনাকারী শব্দও বলতে পারি। কারণ এটি কোনো কিছুর বর্ণনা দেয়।
উদাহরণ দেখে নিই:
১. গুণ (Quality):
He is a good boy. (এখানে 'good' শব্দটি ছেলেটির গুণ বোঝাচ্ছে।)
২. অবস্থা (Condition):
The tea is hot. (চা-টি কেমন? 'hot' বা গরম।)
৩. রঙ (Color):
I have a red pen. (পেনটি কেমন? 'red' বা লাল।)
৪. সংখ্যা (Number):
I have two apples. (কয়টি আপেল? 'two' বা দুইটি।)
৫. আকার (Shape/Size):
An elephant is huge. (হাতিটি কেমন? 'huge' বা বিশাল।)
